Pygmy sloths (Bradypus pygmaeus) live on a tiny and mostly uninhabited island of 4 square kilometers (1.5 square miles) that is 17 km (10.5 miles) off the coast of Panama, called Escudo Island. The zoo says their care team is keeping a close eye on mom and baby as they bond and both are doing well.
